To flee....The manager came to my house, I almost threw him out the door because of his really unpleasant way of speaking. When he started wanting to redo my house even though it was a disaster that only affected the bottom of my 70 cm partitions. I said stop! I explain to him that I have been a qualified quantity surveyor and economist in construction for 25 years (too bad), that I am more qualified than him to know what to figure in my claim and that I did not call him to defraud my insurance. I just ask him to give me a quote to drop me off and pick up what was damaged, which was accepted by the insurance company. The guy said to me, well if you know better than me, call someone else. I remind him that I didn't call an expert, but a plasterer. Suddenly, he calms down and talks to me about putting a mat on the ground which is none other than a polyane (he doesn't master construction jargon either) and about the DTU obligation which he apparently doesn't know well . I also sent him the plans and text of the DTU a few days later to show him his error, but I doubt he would know how to read it. In short, he accepts, takes his measurements and promises me a quote but when I follow up with him by text message a week later, he always replies by text message (very rude) that he will not follow up. There is no doubt that coming across a quantity surveyor confused him because he was unable to sell his service in gold and off topic. But it's even worse to promise a quote and never send it...It's dishonest. I have other more courteous contractors who came and who were happy to have the advice of a quantity surveyor so as not to waste time and they gave me a compliant quote within the week.
